19-year-old Londoner Rainy Milo blends jazz, hip-hop, R&B and pop into something effortlessly cool. Her debut album, This Thing Of Ours, drops in the U.S. on April 21st on Limey / Big Picnic Records. Q Magazine calls it “a near perfect album,” while Wonderland describes her album as, “sweet electronics and crisp R&B flavors in around her reedy, South London-tinged vocals like a warm blanket.”
Rainy attended London’s famed BRIT School, known for honing the talents of acts like Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Jessie J. At the age of 15, she uploaded her first track, “‘Bout You,” which had labels scrambling to sign her and caught the attention of Gilles Peterson for his Brownswood Bubblers compilation. That was soon followed by the mixtape, Limey, and the UK release of her debut album, This Thing Of Ours. Milo worked on the album with producers Cole M.G.N. (member of Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti), Daje, Chet Faker, LA duo Caswell, and BLCK RSSN.
Receiving great acclaim across the pond with U.S.-based outlets like Pitchfork, Complex, Noisey, Nylon, Idolator, Vibe, Interview, Pigeons & Planes and more catching on as well, Rainy is now ready to focus her sights and sounds on America.
