release description

New York soul singer Sophia Bastian's Juvenile Blues EP was recorded & produced by Itai Shapira of the Decoders. It features some very acclaimed musicians from the NY & LA circuit: Horn player Todd M. Simon (Breakestra, Ethio Cali, The Decoders), Raymond Angry - wurlitzer (Prince, D'Angelo, The Roots, Joss Stone) Alex Alena - drums (Lily Allen, Alice Smith) Topher Mohr - guitar (Mayer Hawthrone) Quincy McCrary- rhodes (Mayer Hawthorne) among others.

Inspired by the greats of Blues & Soul, Sophia takes a traditional 12-bar Blues to a fresh new place on the title track. "I love the storytelling of Ray Charles...his delivery is so poignant. That's where I learned how naturally the Blues serves a short story", says Sophia.

The yet unsigned artist has been receiving quite some acclaim here and internationally. Her music has been aired on MTVU, VH1 Soul and Palladia, and BBC Radio, courtesy of Tastemaker and BBC Radio host Gilles Peterson.
